Heather Shepherd

Heather is a retired social worker and therapist. Having worked most of her career in social services, education and supporting those with developmental disabilities, art has been a healing aspect of her work and personal journey. Recognizing the invaluable healing aspect of art, crafts, gardening and nature Heather has found the perfect balance of continuing her desire to support people in their journey while providing a space for the community that brings together art, crafts and botanical wonders. In addition to starting Creative Heart Studios, Heather has a small flower farm (Flowering Fields Forever) allowing her to bring flowers, herbs and botanical gems to the studio for use in art and to offer fresh seasonal bouquets to the community.

Heather’s unique set of skills and experiences brings a unique opportunity for DIY Art & Crafts to the community. Her specialized art workshop series such as Grief & Gratitude offers people the opportunity to lean into healing through art, reflection and guided meditation. Due to Heather’s professional background she not only understands grief clinically but personally as a result of her husband’s unexpected death and then raising her children as a solo parent, bringing a lived experience to her work. She brings her keen intuition, professional and clinical skills to all that she does holding a safe space for meeting each person where they are at in their journey.

Creative Heart Studios is a place for everyone to experience art, find unique gifts, take away art kits, art supplies and belong.
